Who runs this site

This site is a personal portfolio and blog operated by Mohammad Asif Ullah Chowdhury. You can reach me at asifthewebguy@gmail.com for any privacy-related questions.

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., a Microsoft subsidiary). GitHub may log standard server-side data such as IP addresses and request metadata as part of their infrastructure. See GitHub's privacy statement for details.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects:

• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• Approximate geographic location (country and city, derived from IP address)
• Browser type, operating system, and device category
• Referral source (how you arrived at the site)

This data is aggregated and anonymised. No data that directly identifies you is collected or stored by this site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to distinguish returning visitors.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by:

• Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
• Enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser (note: this is not universally honoured)
• Using a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts

Google's data processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Cookies

This site itself sets no first-party cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser under the _ga and _ga_* names. These are used solely for analytics purposes and expire after two years.

The site also uses localStorage in your browser to remember your preferred colour theme (dark or light). This data never leaves your device.

No accounts or forms

Visitors do not need to create an account or submit any personal information to use this site. There are no contact forms, comment sections, or newsletter sign-ups.

Embedded content

Some blog posts may embed videos hosted on Google Drive. When a video is loaded, Google's servers receive your IP address and browser information in the same way any embedded third-party content would. Google's privacy policy applies to that interaction.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar laws, including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Since this site does not collect or store personal data directly, most such requests would need to be directed to the third-party services listed above.
